Sour Manioc Starch - Polvilho Azedo - is the base ingredient for making the famous Brazilian cheese bread. The sour manioc starch is made from pressing and juicing fresh cassava roots, which are fermented and then dried to form a very fine white flour.

Manioc starch can also be used for tapioca pancakes or as a thickening ingredient in gravies or sauces, a gluten-free replacement in baked goods, and in desserts.
